Most definitely! We welcome novice and experienced paddlers to enjoy time on the water. If you are unsure about any aspect of canoeing please ask for advice when you collect the canoe, we are happy to show you the basics to build up confidence before you depart. The collection point at Thorpe River Green is a great spot to learn the basics.
Online Booking can be completed in a few simple steps.
1. Go to the booking page and choose your preferred boat in the ‘Resource’ section
2. Scroll through the calendar to the correct date and select your preferred start time. (Dates that are already fully booked will show as ‘Unavailable’)
3. Then fill in the booking criteria, including the number of people.
4. Enter your personal information. If you have a Gift Voucher you can enter the voucher code here.
5. Click on the ‘make reservation’ button and once you have been taken to the payment page, enter payment details to complete your booking.
Yes! Canoeing is a great activity for children and adults to enjoy. All under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult.
Yes, dogs are most welcome. It is advisable to bring a blanket for him or her to lay down on. Pet bouyancy aids are NOT supplied.
Each canoe has three seats. If your group has no previous experience paddling a canoe it is slightly easier with two adults per canoe. with three paddlers per canoe you need to paddle simultaneously to avoid knocking paddles with the middle participant, once a rythmn is established the canoe will move at a good speed.
Yes, appropriate size bouyancy aids are supplied, they must be worn at all times when in the canoe.
Each canoe has a maximum load of 300kgs, each individual seat has a limit of 100kgs. It is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure that the collective weight of the occupants is within the 300 kgs limit. Overloaded canoes pose the risk of a capsize.
No, all payments are non refundable. However you can reschedule a booking no less than 24 hours before start time.
Canoeing is an all weather activity. Pack a cagoule and warm base layers. There may be circumstances when the weather is too dangerous to go canoeing (high winds and storms). In this event we will cancel your booking and you will receive a full refund or the chance to re-book.
No alcohol is allowed in our canoes. We remind participants that if you appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs you will not be allowed to take part. If you wish to consume alcohol at any of the pub stops please do so responsibly and consume no more alcohol than if you were driving a car. We accept no liability for accidents, loss or damage of personal possessions as a result of intoxication.
There is free parking available along much of Yarmouth Road, within close walking distance from our meeting point at Thorpe River Green.
No. You will be given a map of the route and shown how to tie off the canoe. If required, you will be shown how to paddle the canoe. We do not come with you.
